David Williams
Coach of the Manchester
United U19 Youth Team, Williams is responsible for developing the
youth players and preparing them for play in the First Team.
Williams has extensive coaching experience and credentials including
coaching in the English Premier League and
at the National team level. Prior to joining Manchester United,
Williams was the Assistant Manager/First Team Coach at Leeds United,
Norwich City and Everton of the English Premier League and the
Assistant Manager for the Welsh National Team.
This session by David Williams was conducted at the WORLD CLASS
COACHING International Coaching Seminar in Connecticut on June 8 –
10, 2000. It starts with some individual defending and progresses to
various exercises using four defenders and finally ends with four
defenders working on a full field.

PSV Eindenhoven U18 Team
This article appeared in the
PSV Journal, which was given as a FREE BONUS to all subscribers of
the WORLD CLASS COACHING magazine in 1999/2000. The 40-page journal
consists of observations of training sessions of the PSV youth and
professional teams. This session, focusing on shooting, is conducted
with eight players of the U18 Youth team. More players could be
added to the rotations or two drills could be used simultaneously.
